The Senior Field Engineer prepares for and executes offshore installation operations.
Essential Qualifications and Education:
Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Engineering
Extensive knowledge & experience of offshore EPCI / T&I projects including execution, safety management, budget control, schedule control, and quality control management, or experience in the role or similar roles
Familiar with international codes and standards
Good communication, coordination, and organizing skills; the ability to work with minimal supervision and liaise effectively and efficiently with other team members and stakeholders
Demonstrate a high level of interpersonal skills and integrity
Stakeholder Management skills - Proven ability to build strong working relationships with internal and external parties
Delivery orientated. Able to manage time and meet deadlines
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
TBT: Each morning at 6am with all the PPG crew including Welding Coordinators, Welders, Techs, and BMOs
TRAs: Ensure all new joining crew are familiar and understand the General TRA for PPG facility
HIT Card: At the start of each task, check all HIT cards in the facility and ensure all personnel are familiar with the task
PPG Welding crew: Coordinate welders coming into the facility for training and qualification
Daily activity report: Send daily activity report for PPG shop
General waste: Monitor and coordinate waste and the removal from site, coordination with Landlord OSC
Metal Scrap: Monitor and coordinate metal waste which will be collected by OSC provided vendor. Liaise with vendor
Diesel tank: Monitor the diesel usage to maintain 2000 Gallons to avoid the air pocket; diesel refueling is arranged every Friday to fill 1000 gallons
Forklift arrangement: Coordinate and arrange as needed the 5 ton forklift provided by OSC; if any issues with forklift or breakdowns, contact OSC maintenance team
Material Movement: Liaise with OSC Material Movement dept for transferring any material; arrange transport accordingly
Welding Consumable: Monitor each welding bay for weekly supply of grinding disks, cutting disks, flap disks, welding clear lenses, and Tig gloves and send it to Welding store man to prepare and make arrangement of transport to OSC
Cutting Gasses: Update the tracking sheet weekly for cutting gases, oxygen, acetylene, and propane to maintain stock for each project
Welding Gasses: All the welding gases are monitored by the technicians and ordered directly; coordinate with the technicians to maintain stock for each project
Confined Space: Ensure all permits and checks have been done for entry inside the 2G Pit; ensure the PTW is in place and contact the safety officer for gas test
Housekeeping: Oversee all housekeeping after TBT and end of the shift
Cleaning of pantry and restroom: Ensure MBM cleans washrooms and pantry in Shop 1 twice a day; stairs and windows and doors twice a week
Meal for shop crew: Coordinate with Abela for the delivery of food for the workshop personnel
Send TBT sheet to admin for headcount every day
Transferring X-ray pipes: Arrange all pipe transfer from OSC to McDermott yard with OSC Material Movement dept for X-ray pipes
Bays Allocation:
Coordinate with engineers to set up the bay according to project requirement
Set up the project pipe on the rollers and secure the pipe
Coordinate with equipment Lead for ILUC allocation and install in pipe
Pass to technician for equipment setup
Allocate the lead welder and crew as per project requirements
Coordinate with BMO supervisor for readiness of pipe (bevel configuration provided by welding Engineer)
Welding Consumables: Ensure all consumables are stored correctly as per supplier recommendations and empty the water from humidifier twice a day to maintain the humidity below 50%
Water draining for Deep tray: Every morning start the pump from both ends of tray to drain the water
Transportation: Coordinate with McDermott JAY for personnel transportation
