The Airport Baggage Handler is responsible for loading, unloading, and transporting baggage and cargo at an airport. They will ensure that luggage and goods are correctly tagged, secure, and safely delivered to the appropriate locations. The Airport Baggage Handler must have excellent physical stamina and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
Load and unload baggage and cargo from aircraft, conveyor belts, and carts.
Sort and distribute luggage to respective flights or baggage carousels.
Tag luggage with appropriate destination tags and ensure accuracy.
Operate baggage handling equipment, such as conveyor belts and tugs.
Monitor and maintain the cleanliness of baggage areas and conveyors.
Handle special items, fragile packages, and oversized luggage with care.
Report any damaged or lost luggage to the appropriate authorities.
Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient and timely baggage operations.
Minimum Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent.
Proven experience as a baggage handler or in a similar role.
Excellent physical fitness and ability to lift heavy objects.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work in a team and follow instructions.
