Principal Application Architect

We are urgently looking to hire an experienced, dynamic Lead Application Architect to join a global industry-leading business & technology strategy consultancy in their Dubai office and lead multiple project teams of Developers on client cutting-edge web and mobile application development projects in the UAE, Saudi Arabia and wider region.

Responsibilities:

1. Provide direct day-to-day architectural and technology problem-solving, coaching, direction and guidance to product teams in a start-up like environment under Agile guidelines.
2. Promote and maintain engineering best practices such as test-driven development and continuous integration and delivery.
3. Evaluate and identify appropriate technology stacks and platforms, including web application frameworks and cloud providers.
4. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of technology standards, industry trends, emerging technologies, and software development best practices by attending relevant conferences, reading widely and being active in tech communities.
5. Partner with wider firm to ensure compliance, regulatory and audit and architecture requirements are met.
6. Coach technical leads and provide ad-hoc problem-solving support, including hands-on pairing when needed.
7. Collaborate with and support technical leads to ensure high quality code across the teams.
8. Facilitate and deliver training and knowledge sharing sessions for engineers.
9. Work together with technical leads supporting the engineers for all people related matters.

Required Experience & Skills:

1. 12+ years of total experience including 10+ years in engineering and technology roles working with product development teams, delivering and building digital products.
2. Bachelor's degree required, advanced degree a plus - with professional certifications.
3. Experience in building technical architecture chapters.
4. Prior consulting experience a plus.
5. Deep understanding of the digital technology space with the ability to stay current and up-to-date on trends and technologies.
6. Strong problem-solving skills and hands-on pairing capabilities.
7. Wide experience and understanding of architecture in terms of solution, data and integration.
8. Experience working with teams using DevOps and continuous delivery with focus on delivering rapid customer value.
9. Experience in product development for web and mobile with hands-on experience coding.
10. Experience in Agile software development methodologies, processes, and tools.
11. Familiarity with information security vulnerabilities and risk management practices.
12. Proven leadership ability, including the skill to articulate ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences.
13. Strong examples of coaching, facilitating and guiding others directing, leading and mentoring others.
