Job description
  • Design and analyze structural components, ensuring they meet safety standards and building codes while adhering to project specifications.
  • Conduct site assessments to evaluate the structural integrity of existing buildings and infrastructure, identifying potential issues and recommending solutions.
  • Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other engineers to develop integrated design solutions that balance functionality, aesthetics, and cost.
  • Utilize advanced software tools for modeling and simulation to predict structural behavior under various load conditions, optimizing designs for performance.
  • Prepare detailed engineering reports and documentation, including calculations, drawings, and specifications to communicate design intent effectively.
  • Oversee construction activities, providing technical guidance and ensuring compliance with design specifications and safety regulations.
  • Perform risk assessments and feasibility studies to anticipate challenges and mitigate potential issues during the design and construction phases.
  • Stay current with industry trends, codes, and technologies to innovate and apply best practices in structural engineering.
  • Mentor junior engineers and interns, fostering their professional development and ensuring a high standard of engineering practice.
  • Manage project timelines and budgets, coordinating with stakeholders to deliver projects on schedule and within financial constraints.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering; a Master's degree is preferred for advanced roles.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification is mandatory to validate expertise in structural design.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in structural engineering, with a proven track record in diverse projects.
  • Experience in high-rise buildings, bridges, or industrial structures is highly desirable to align with project demands.
  • Familiarity with building codes and regulations specific to the region, ensuring compliance with all legal requirements.
  • Proficiency in industry-standard software such as AutoCAD, SAP2000, or ETABS for effective design and analysis.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail to ensure accuracy and reliability in structural calculations and assessments.
  • Excellent communication skills to convey complex engineering concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams, demonstrating leadership and conflict resolution skills when necessary.
  • Willingness to travel for site visits and inspections, adapting to different work environments and conditions.
