Job Description
Responsible for the day to day running of the work schedule.
- Provide support to Project Team in the preparation of plans, drawings, etc. required for the execution of project activities during different phases.
- Submit weekly and monthly progress reports to client regarding material procurement status, fabrication activities, and erection progress.
- Coordinate with other departments, contractors, and vendors for establishing methods for implementation of engineering packages, follow up contractor sourcing material, approval of contractor documents, etc.
- Prepare close-out reports for contracts and engineering packages.
- Prepare cost estimates, MTO, and manpower requirements for project change/variation orders.
- Provide required E&I bid support such as constructability study, method statement, manpower requirement, and preparation of MTO and cost estimate.
- Assist in selection of discipline personnel assigned to projects.
- Check, verify, and review the IFC drawings and other attachments associated with electrical & instrumentation aspects.
- Have sound knowledge of the application of engineering to plant constructability as applied to construction methods and materials.
- Interpret P&ID, layout diagrams, and control circuit diagrams.
- Lead a team of workforce effectively & efficiently. Monitor work progress to ensure optimum utilization of resources and obtain maximum productivity.
- Schedule weekly meetings with the client and also with supervisors, foreman, and discuss project status/issues and other related matters.
- Have installation experience for all kinds of electrical & instrument equipment in different Oil & Gas Industries.
- Monitor the correct installation of the electrical & instrument devices.
- Perform loop checking, pre-commissioning, and commissioning activities.
- Maintain daily progress report & preparation of two-week look-ahead schedule.
- Ensure proper interdisciplinary coordination and effective communication among the project team.
- Have excellent technical know-how about various E&I activities like DCS, ESD, MMS, PLC & SCADA systems, and all other field instruments such as Foundation Field Bus, Smart Transmitter, instrument calibration, process impulse tubing.
- Review and correct/modify and approve the pre-commission and commissioning checklist/procedures and subsequently organize for the required resources.
- Review, check, compare, and verify between the IFC documents and site survey reports for constructability aspects as well as for any technical and commercial variation/deviation involved and subsequently notify and clarify with clients.
- Review and finalize project presentations, engineering deliverables, compilation of tender packages, organize technical bid evaluation process followed by initiation and execution of post-order vendor documentation review/approval.
- Conduct TRA meetings with client and project management team and contribute in identifying, assessing, and mitigating the risks to appropriate levels, as per standard HSE norms.
- Review project schedule including material and manpower planning as well as sufficient and adequate resources such as manpower, materials, and equipment for the project and make changes/modifications, if required, to achieve timely delivery of the projects.
- Make site visits for planning execution of works with the site team as required.
- Carry out project execution at onshore/offshore installations as per company requirements.
- Ensure contractors have valid security passes, manpower, and equipment certification prior to mobilization to site.
- Arrange and follow up with contractors on manpower & equipment demobilization.
- Review and offer contractors' bills for payments.
- Provide support to the project team for budget allocation and expenditure and related issues as identified during different phases of the execution stage.
- Ensure execution compliance with the schedules, budget, and contract obligations and report deviations and constraints.
- Provide feedback to team members for improvement of work methodology.
- Liaise/follow up with contractors to expedite material & resources delivery in line with planned schedules in order to meet execution plan.
- Liaise with the client regarding project-related issues and keep the client & management updated on project progress.
- Prepare technical bid queries, tender document deliverables, select suitable instruments for a given application, prepare instruments schedule, and prepare instrument specifications.
Desired Candidate Profile
8-15 years of overall experience in EPC projects of medium to large size in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Refinery, Power Plants, Cement plants, heat exchangers, etc., out of which at least 5 years in fabrication/construction/erection of onshore and offshore structures including Pumps, RO Units, Sewage Treatment plants, and Hydraulics.
