Job Role: Electrical and Instrumentation Draftsman
Job Overview
The Electrical and Instrumentation Designer / Draftsman shall develop concepts & ideas created by the discipline engineers and project engineers, and aid in developing them to detailed CAD / REVIT drawings to fulfill the requirements of the projects. This role involves collaborating with electrical engineers and construction teams to ensure that electrical designs and installations meet project specifications and adhere to safety and regulatory standards.
Responsibilities and Duties
Drawings (2D / 3D as necessary) for various types of projects executed by the company.
Using CAD / REVIT software to produce Electrical Instrumentation Telecom plans / sections / elevations and details, ensuring that all layouts are compliant with the latest industry standards and in line with the project specifications.
Prepare and aid in preparing drawings such as Electrical / Instrument / Telecom (EIT) Equipment Layouts, General arrangements, working drawings, Cable schedules, Load Schedules, MCT Schedules, cable block diagrams, termination drawings, Installation Drawings, Shop Drawings, cable tray layouts, cable routing layouts, material Take-offs etc. with minimal supervision or guidance.
Develop and review detailed designs, plans, calculations, etc. as necessary for each project.
Review drawing outputs, ensuring conformance with conceptual project requirements and technical details within their discipline.
Reworking and modifying designs / drawings based on comments and reviews from the Client.
Working under the guidelines of the Lead E&I Engineer on various engineering deliverables (not limited to E-I-T) as required for each project.
Conducting site visits during various construction stages and preparation of RED LINE mark-ups.
Preparation of As Built drawings and documents as required for each project.
Ensuring close coordination with other engineering disciplines in the drawings and documents being prepared.
Proposing cost-effective Designs / Construction methodologies for projects.
Maintain accurate and organized project documentation, including design changes, correspondence, and project records.
Review and verification of constructability of designs and maintainability of installations.
Review of Client comments on engineering drawings and calculations, evaluating that the comments made are within the contractual scope of work for each project.
Review and optimize engineering designs to minimize material usage, reduce construction costs, and improve sustainability and profitability.
Conduct site / Fabrication yard visits to ensure that the systems are installed according to design specifications and approved construction drawings.
Adherence to company policies and maintaining confidentiality of all vital design / project information.
QHSE Responsibilities
Ensure compliance with all relevant QHSE procedures and controls across the engineering function to guarantee employee safety, health, legislative compliance, delivery of high-quality products / services, and responsible environmental attitude.

Reports to: Sr. HVAC Engineer
Qualifications
Academic Qualifications: Diploma in Electrical Engineering
Experience: 6+ Years of Relevant experience in a similar role
