Distribution Supervisor
Job description
Roles and Responsibilities- Responsible for running the DC operations which involves multiple functions like: Receiving, putaway, dispatch, inventory control & quality.
- DC supervisor is responsible for DC level KPIs and is required to optimize and continue improving processes to reach the KPIs targets.
- DC supervisor is accountable for health & safety, stock levels, availability and cost among many other KPIs.
- Focused on local activities, however will have light interactions with regional and central teams to drive improvements.
- Work closely with demand planner, commercial, operations, procurement, inventory control & finance.
- Manage 20-30 employees, and is responsible for monthly connects, development plans and attendance.
- DC supervisor is expected to oversee inventory, availability and cost.
- Collaborate with the demand planning team to optimize on purchases, availability and inventory.
- Work with finance team to optimize the operating costs.
What You Need to Be Successful- You have at least 5-7 years of experience in warehousing & DC with Fruits & Vegetables experience.
- You have technical fresh food knowledge that enables you to provide your manager with accurate information.
- Solid knowledge of all DC operations, inventory control and basic finance knowledge.
- You are someone energized by the unknown and look forward to learning each day on the job.
- Good communication skills, and always like to be hands-on with several tools.
- Additionally, you have robust interpersonal and intercultural skills.
- Language Skills: Very Good English would be highly advantageous.
- Computer Skills: Very Good in Excel, ERP system.

- Logistics and Distribution Knowledge
- Deep understanding of distribution processes, including inventory management, order fulfillment, and shipping logistics.
- Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and transportation management systems (TMS).
- Familiarity with best practices in managing distribution operations, including packaging, labeling, and routing.
- Problem-Solving Skills
- Ability to quickly identify problems or delays in the distribution process and take corrective action to resolve them.
- Managing unexpected challenges, such as shipment delays, inventory shortages, or miscommunications with vendors.
- Inventory Control
- Monitoring inventory levels to ensure that the correct quantities of products are available for distribution without overstocking.
- Ensuring proper storage conditions to prevent damage or loss of goods during distribution.
- Overseeing the accuracy of inventory records and handling discrepancies.
- Time Management
- Ensuring that distribution operations are efficient and meet delivery deadlines.
- Balancing multiple tasks, such as coordinating shipments, managing inventory, and leading the team, within tight schedules.
- Managing resources effectively to meet the distribution needs of the business.
- Compliance and Safety Knowledge
- Ensuring that the distribution process follows industry regulations, company policies, and safety standards.
- Supervising staff to ensure compliance with safety protocols and proper handling of hazardous or sensitive materials.
- Conducting regular safety checks and addressing potential hazards in the distribution center.
- Data Management and Reporting
- Using distribution management software to track deliveries, inventory levels, and shipments.
- Preparing regular reports on distribution performance, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
- Analyzing data to identify trends, opportunities for improvement, and areas where costs can be reduced.
