Director of Investments - Public Markets

Our client is a distinguished family office with a global investment mandate, managing a diversified portfolio across multiple asset classes. With a strong emphasis on capital preservation, long-term growth, and alignment with ethical investment principles, the family office seeks a highly experienced Director of Investments to lead asset allocation and portfolio management in public markets.

Role Overview

The Director of Investments will be responsible for developing and executing the family office's public markets investment strategy. This role requires a deep understanding of global equity markets, Sharia-compliant fixed-income instruments, and portfolio risk management. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in asset allocation, manager selection, and direct investment within public markets.

Key Responsibilities

1. Develop and implement the strategic asset allocation for public markets investments.
2. Maintain a long-term, risk-adjusted investment approach aligned with the family's objectives.
3. Identify market trends, macroeconomic developments, and investment opportunities.
4. Oversee the performance of public markets investments, ensuring strong risk-adjusted returns.
5. Ensure alignment with Sharia-compliant investment principles.
6. Evaluate and select external fund managers where appropriate, ensuring they align with the family's investment philosophy.
7. Work closely with external investment managers, research providers, and advisors to enhance investment decision-making.

Key Qualifications & Experience

1. 10+ years of experience in investment management, within an institutional environment.
2. Deep expertise in public markets investing, including global equities and Sharia-compliant fixed-income instruments (Sukuk).
3. Strong understanding of macroeconomic factors, portfolio construction, and risk management.
4. Proven track record of asset allocation and investment decision-making.
5. Broader asset class knowledge such as Real Estate would be an advantage.
