My client is a leading power and utilities conglomerate who are currently seeking to appoint a new Director of Internal Audit to assist the Board of Directors and Executive Management to protect the assets, reputation and long-term, sustainable value-creation of the company and its subsidiaries.
Your new role
As the Director of Internal Audit, you will be reporting to the Audit and Risk Committee as well as the Chief Executive Officer whilst overseeing a team of 6. Key responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to;
Ensuring all significant risks are identified and reported appropriately to the Board and Executive Management
Ensuring that the design and operation of key controls are effective at pre-empting and / or mitigating significant risks
Providing assurance over the effectiveness of governance, risk management and internal controls through performing reviews and engaging with committees / executive management, providing opinion, challenge and advice on risk and the state of the control environment
Contributing to the overall enterprise risk management framework to create a culture of risk awareness, reviewing alignment of business decisions with risk management framework and ensuring a robust risk management process.
What you'll need to succeed
A qualified Chartered or Public Accountant
Thorough knowledge of the International Auditing / Accounting Standards and practices
Knowledge of District Cooling / HVAC market
High level of proficiency in an ERP environment.
An understanding of, and adherence to, the Auditors Code of Ethics and the Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing as developed by the Institute of Internal Auditors.
