Job description

Responsibilities

  1. Maintains standards of food and beverage quality and guest service quality.
  2. Achieves budgeted/forecasted revenues and expenses and maximizes profitability related to the food and beverage department.
  3. Contributes to the profitability and guest satisfaction perception of other hotel departments.
  4. Implements and maintains local and national sales/marketing programs.
  5. Develops short term and long term financial and operational plans for the food and beverage department which support the overall objectives of the hotel.
  6. Participates in the preparation of the annual hotel budget.
  7. Increases level of guest satisfaction by delivery of an improved product through employee development, job engineering and quality image.
  8. Manages in compliance with established company policies and procedures.
  9. Manages in compliance with local, state and federal laws and regulations.
  10. Maintains procedures for security of monies.
  11. Maintains procedures for credit control and handling of financial transactions.
  12. Maintains inventory control procedures.
  13. Receives departmental related guest complaints and ensures corrective action is taken.
  14. Manages the Human Resources within the division, including recruitment and development of employees; hiring, training, empowering, coaching, counseling, performance and salary reviews, conflict resolution, and disciplinary actions as appropriate.
  15. Develops, recommends, implements, and manages the division’s annual budget, business/marketing plan forecasts and objectives to meet/exceed management expectations.
  16. Implements and manages all company programs to ensure compliance with SOPs and LSOPs, including safety and sanitary regulations, to ensure optimal levels of quality service and hospitality are provided to guests.
  17. Markets the Food and Beverage outlets; develops and manages the implementation of menus, package deals, promotions, displays, decorations, and presentations within corporate guidelines to capture more in-house guests and a larger share of the local market to meet/exceed sales and financial goals and objectives.
  18. Manages the maintenance and sanitation of the Food and Beverage areas and equipment in the hotel to protect the assets, comply with regulations, and ensure quality service.
  19. Resolves customer complaints as appropriate to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction and quality.

Qualifications

  1. Previous experience as a Director of Food & Beverage in a five-star hotel.
  2. Experience in the Middle East is an asset.
  3. Four to five years of employment in a related position with this company or other organizations.
  4. Requires advanced knowledge of the principles and practices within the Food & Beverage/Hospitality profession, including knowledge required for management of people, complex problems, and food and beverage management.
  5. Ability to study, analyze, and interpret complex activities.
