Job description

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Finance Manager to join our team, providing essential business support to the hotel General Manager. Your role will focus on optimizing financial performance, ensuring ethical accounting practices, and enhancing the guest experience while maintaining a strong commitment to the well-being of our staff.

Responsibilities:

  1. Collaborate closely with the General Manager to drive business results and maximize owners’ returns while ensuring the highest quality of service and product delivery.
  2. Manage and align the expectations of Owners and Asset Management to facilitate effective communication and operational efficiency.
  3. Lead, coach, and develop your team to ensure the right personnel are assigned to the appropriate tasks for optimal performance.
  4. Establish and uphold exceptional accounting practice standards, ensuring that financial control procedures are ethical and compliant with legal requirements.
  5. Maximize financial returns through comprehensive financial analysis, market trend assessments, and strategic budgeting.
  6. Enhance the guest experience by improving payment options, inventory controls, and resolving financial disputes efficiently.
  7. Supervise and coordinate a team of clerical accounting employees across various functions, including Accounts Payable, Purchasing, and Payroll.
  8. Conduct regular financial audits and reviews to ensure accuracy and compliance with industry standards.
  9. Prepare and present financial reports to stakeholders, including forecasts, budgets, and variance analyses.
  10. Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the finance department to streamline processes and enhance productivity.
  11. Foster a culture of transparency and accountability within the team and throughout the organization.

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor’s degree or higher education qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  2. Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role within an international 5-star hotel or resort environment.
  3. Strong technical knowledge of accounting systems, including payroll management, purchasing systems, and software like PeopleSoft.
  4. Proficient in accounting management duties, including negotiating hotel space and tenant leases, processing payroll, performing asset management tasks, and preparing tax returns.
  5. Professional accounting or finance designation (e.g., CPA, ACCA) is preferred.
  6. Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to articulate complex financial concepts clearly.
  7. Strong leadership abilities with experience in managing stakeholders and building effective relationships.
  8. Analytical mindset with exceptional problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  9. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining a high standard of accuracy.
  10. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, for financial modeling and analysis.
