About the Role

As a Director of Child Care Center, you will be responsible for the overall management and operation of the Child Care Center at the University of Sharjah. This involves overseeing all aspects of the center's activities, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and providing a high-quality learning environment for children. The Director is responsible for creating a positive and inclusive atmosphere for children, families, and staff while fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

1. Develop and implement developmentally appropriate educational curricula and programs that align with the Child Care Center's mission and objectives and the Sharjah Private Education Authority's requirements.
2. Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure the safety and well-being of children.
3. Ensure the availability of instructional materials and teaching aids, including developmentally appropriate books, toys, and games.
4. Communicate regularly with teaching staff and family members concerning identified behavioral or learning difficulties in children and suggest ways to improve the situation.
5. Ensure the availability of accurate and up-to-date records and documentation, including student records, attendance, medical history, and personnel files.
6. Manage the department's budget, track expenditures, and ensure that adequate provision is made for all activities and are within the limits of the budget.
7. Manage the hiring process for the Child Care Center, including preparing a request to recruit forms, selection, and interview process in order to ensure the best and most suitable candidates are selected for the available vacancies.
8. Stay informed about current trends, research, and best practices in Early Years education, and implement innovative strategies accordingly.

Job Requirements

Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to prepare professional documents, in both Arabic and English.

Excellent working knowledge of personal computer applications with an emphasis on MS Office applications such as Excel, Word, and Teams.

Advanced knowledge of early childhood education principles, theories, and practices.

Proficiency in educational technology and software used in early childhood education.

Fully aware of relevant regulations and licensing requirements for nursery schools.

Minimum of bachelor’s degree in Education, Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a relevant discipline.

A Postgraduate Diploma in Teaching or Early Childhood Education would add an advantage.

First aid and CPR certification would add an advantage.

Above 15 Years of UAE experience in leadership and teaching positions, preferably in higher education institutions.
