Position Overview

As a Director of Marketing, you will be responsible for creating and executing marketing strategies that drive meaningful relationships with our B2C prospects and customers. The incumbent will be both creative and well-versed in a wide variety of marketing areas, including content, community, and lifecycle marketing.

Key Responsibilities

The Director of Marketing will:

  1. Lead in the development, implementation, and execution of specific marketing plans.
  2. Assume responsibility for building and implementing marketing programs, monitor customer needs, and evaluating the effectiveness of various marketing initiatives.
  3. Initially manage at least 1 direct report and build a best-in-class marketing team to support business growth.
  4. Be a player-coach, prepared to be a strategic leader and execute on the strategy when needed.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Expertise in building engaging online communities and creating content marketing based on data and research.
  • Advanced writing and editing skills, with a high bar for quality.
  • A collaborative approach, teaming across functions and with partners.
  • Experience repurposing existing content into new content types for use in diverse channels.
  • An understanding of modern CMS and UX; ability to supervise content creation on AEM, WordPress, etc.
  • Experience setting and measuring performance against content and channel metrics.
  • Detailed knowledge of current online tools and marketing trends, including SEO, funnel analytics, and community management.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
  • Bachelor's Degree required; a master's degree in marketing or an MBA preferred.
  • 10+ years of marketing experience at a successful consumer education technology brand.
