The Director logistics is responsible for developing and implementing supply chain processes and procedures for Retail Discount which includes planning and organizing the movement of goods and materials from suppliers and manufacturers through to customers. The role holder is also responsible for enhancing the effectiveness of the overall supply chain by managing the Sourcing Hubs and working closely with internal/external stakeholders to ensure that logistics, replenishment and distribution related contribute towards achieving the overall business objectives.
Role Details Key Responsibilities And Accountabilities
Strategic Planning
Develop a Supply Chain strategy that is aligned with the overall corporate strategy and ensure its proper implementation.
Propose and manage actions, solutions in the supply chain management to support the company expansion.
Propose supply chain solutions related to merchandise and store needs.
Identify potential risks and propose action plans to ensure safe and healthy conditions for merchandise inventory and operations in the Stores and Stocking locations.
Work closely with vendors to develop the private label products and create the supply chain process for the PL items from vendors till stores along with thorough inventory management.
Sourcing Hubs
Manage the Sourcing Hubs across various countries to support the Retail Discount expansion and increase the profitability of costs versus logistics.
Customs and Regulations
Stay abreast of changes in regulations related to customs and other sovereign actions which can impact the supply chain for Retail Discount.
Plan and mitigate any disruptions in the supply chain.
Maintain high level oversight over customs handling procedures, inbound and outbound.
Foster relationships with contacts within customs to help stay abreast of changes with regulations.
Oversee the development of a database to maintain current regulations and changes in regulations related to customs and oversee its communication with suppliers.
Logistics
Analyse and propose actions to increase the logistic integration rate.
Plan processes effectively to avoid any costly delays or lost sales opportunities.
Ensure the logistics assets support the current volumes and the future expansion plans.
Stock Management
Guarantee the proper evaluation of out of stock within the target and ensure that appropriate actions are taken if necessary.
Ensure the respect of the targeted distribution centre stock days.
Oversee the proper execution of promotion events to ensure products are in store on time with the lowest distribution costs possible.
Oversee the implementation of the cold chain requirements and all the necessary rules and regulations concerning the quality of the products from stock centre to stores.
Oversee the proper implementation of action plans to improve the service levels to stores.
Relationship Management
Oversee communication with internal functions to ensure synergies across the organization.
Build good relationships with external vendors and maintain a regular communication flow.
Oversee the appropriate execution and renewal of procedures for the third party agreements in compliance with all relevant rules and regulations.
Ensure that supplier service levels are monitored and regular performance reviews with suppliers are done.
Policies and Procedures
Oversee improvements to the supply chain procedures by reducing costs, increasing productivity, faster processes, or better techniques without jeopardizing quality.
Review and propose solutions to improve the accuracy and management of database procedures and lead-time, inventory, and cost improvement.
Oversee the development of a process and procedure related to documenting and reporting of activities related to supply chain.
Human Capital Responsibilities
Oversee the implementation of the performance management process by setting objectives, monitoring performance, and providing formal and informal feedback.
Ensure training and development needs of employees are met.
Provide inputs for the development of the sector's manpower plan to ensure availability of staff to support the business in meeting its strategic objectives.
Provide guidance and coaching to enable direct reports to perform their jobs more efficiently.
Develop and monitor the implementation of MAF Retail's corporate policies and relevant procedures.
