Position: Senior strategic business partner to the Development team and Managing Director, and IA-lead for IMEA Business Unit ("BU"). This role involves providing deal support and financial analysis primarily for new deal signings, driving wider IMEA system size growth, and contributing to EMEAA-level reporting and initiatives.
Key Accountabilities
- Lead IA team for IMEA in the assessment of primarily Managed and Franchise projects – from market research to feasibility and valuation (including as an individual contributor).
- Proactive guidance and training of IA team in deal strategic positioning, feasibility, and valuation.
- Ensure IA team effectively supports Development and other key BU stakeholders – including active management and prioritisation of team capacity to meet external and internal deadlines.
- Lead deal approval process, preparation of deal underwriting/approvals and regional submissions, and be the IMEA BU go-to for deal governance via the EMEAA and Global Delegation of Authority.
- Support BU and EMEAA Leadership in continuous improvements to IA methodology and processes.
- Lead and conduct ad-hoc strategic projects as required, including strategic M&A and portfolio work.
- Representation of IHG at industry conferences and events, as required.
- Conduct administrative tasks at the BU-level (e.g. key money approvals) and support reporting, consolidation, and other tasks as required at the EMEAA-level.
- Responsible for recruitment & retention of IMEA IA team, including planning of training, growth, exposure & progression of individual team members.
Key Skills & Experiences
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality, Business/Finance or Economics, Real Estate or equivalent.
Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in Hotel, Valuation and/or Finance experience or equivalent.
Skills:
- Significant experience in market research and hotel feasibility, coupled with robust grasp of real estate investment models, commercial structuring, and valuation theory, are pre-requisites for this role.
- Deep existing knowledge of IMEA hotel markets.
- Strong hospitality industry network across both operators and consultants.
- Experience in leading & managing cross-border teams with strong stakeholder-management skills.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, writing, and influencing skills.
