Job description

Job Purpose:

The provision of complex cross-asset class active Investment Advisory (IA) services directly to select clients of the Private Banking and Key Client Group segments. This includes but is not limited to:

  1. Working on a day-to-day basis directly with clients to advise them on the management of their investment portfolios in line with their stated goals and investment objectives.
  2. The generation of investment ideas tailored to market trends, customer profile, and FAB investment views, and the delivery of those ideas to clients in a suitable and appropriate manner.
  3. Robust and detailed portfolio management and follow-up of IA mandates in adherence with the Bank's policies & procedures.
  4. The performance of day-to-day risk management/monitoring of IA mandates.
  5. Partner with Relationship Managers in the acquisition and retention of new IA mandates. This includes but is not limited to:
    1. Pitching IA services directly to select clients of the Private Banking and Key Clients Group.
    2. Daily interaction with clients on their portfolio and the resolution of client-related issues in the management of the clients' investment assets.
    3. Taking a holistic view of the overall investment relationship across Advisory, Discretionary, and only portfolios.
    4. Participate in publishing/maintaining Focus Lists on equities, fixed income, and managed investments.
  6. On the management of IA Mandates:
    1. Ensure that portfolios are tailored to clients' risk profiles and objectives / communicate to clients any deviation.
    2. Ensure that relevant processes are followed when marketing investment solutions and that each relevant policy is respected.
    3. Ensure the proper processing of clients' instructions from idea sharing to booking a trade.
    4. Actively manage risk/investments performance and suggest required changes in portfolio structure to clients.
    5. Suggest portfolio rebalancing as appropriate.
    6. Ensure the maintenance of up-to-date records of Investment proposals and portfolio reviews.
    7. Implement portfolio strategies by choosing the appropriate investment products among the list of selected securities (Focus List).
    8. Maximize the performance of portfolios in adherence to the clients' investment objectives and profile.
    9. Proactive partner with Relationship Managers in Business Development activities by preparing and delivering client pitches, providing portfolio advice at client meetings, and resolving client investment-related issues.
    10. Actively promote investment opportunities across the full spectrum of asset classes in line with FAB investment views and Tactical Allocation whilst monitoring the investments of advisory clients.

Qualifications :

  1. Excellent knowledge of the financial markets and financial tools.
  2. Deep understanding of the global economy and capital markets, equity and fixed income analysis, asset allocation, portfolio construction, and risk management for client portfolios, and solid analytic and communication skills.
  3. Solid understanding of investments business, asset classes, fund structures, and investment processes.
  4. Knowledge of and experience in products sourcing and management in the investment industry.
  5. Experience in various asset classes.
  6. Team player with a positive attitude.
  7. Ability to work to tight deadlines.
  8. Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).

Academic requirement:

  1. Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, and/or Master's Degree or an industry qualification.
  2. SCA Certified.
  3. CPA/CFA or equivalent will be an advantage.

Job Experience needed:

At least 7 years of experience in a similar environment.
