Summary: The Director, Finance & Supply Chain is responsible for building and auditing the company financial business models for the Middle East Asia and Travel Retail market in close partnership with the General Manager MEASAT. The role has responsibility for consolidating the regional sales, investment and overheads into country/regional P&Ls to give transparency and protect a profitable business model across the markets. The role is key to protecting the financial health of the business, identifying the opportunities to re-invest and risks associated with currency/stock management. This dynamic position will oversee our demand forecasting and maintain relationships with our 3PLs.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead, mentor, coach, empower, and grow the MEASAT Finance team; provide thought leadership and build strong, effective partnerships with both internal and external partners.
  • Serve as financial advisor to the global Finance team, providing data-driven recommendations and creating a long-term strategy for the company's financial stability based on financial analysis, forecasting, and modeling.
  • Contribute to the development and execution of the company's organizational strategy as an integral member of the team bring best-in-class strategic thinking and ability to bring people together to be a driving force in how we successfully grow our business.
  • Build business models and forecasting tools that allow for long-term scenario planning and real-time decision making, and that maximize the company's impact and revenue.
  • Partner with and present to the senior leadership team on:
    • P&Ls by country, region, and International
    • YTD performance/YTG targets vs. Budget
    • Potential opportunities & risks
    • Feedback sales-mix implications on profit (e.g. COG)
    • Currency fluctuation impact
  • Support on capturing, reporting and monitoring retail/wholesale monthly sales plans (forecasts and results) by channel and geography, flowing into regional and international reporting.
  • With the General Manager, capture, report and monitor investment plans by channel and geography.
  • Highlight the impact of currency fluctuation on sales to allow investment modification in order to deliver agreed profit.
  • Oversee international pricing structure with the global team in Dubai.
  • Track the inventory value and the obsolescence risk, and ensure that E&O remains in budget.
  • Build the 3-5 year financial plan for the MEASAT team, ensuring commercial viability and profitability.
  • Ensure the integrity, accuracy, and usefulness of all financial reports, including budget-to-actuals and financial reports for the company the Board, and key internal decision-makers.
  • Hold a key role in the regional S&OP process ensuring proper regional alignment between financial and unit sales forecast and inventory plans.
  • Support on overseeing the fixed costs of logistics, warehousing, and impact of inventory costs.
  • Work closely with the General Manager for all external negotiations with retailers including Sephora to protect business interests and represent the brand.
  • Drive operational excellence across the organization, evaluating, refining, creating and/or supporting systems and processes to ensure efficiency and effectiveness as we scale in size, product lines, and complexity.
  • Support on all efforts with regards to capturing, reporting, and monitoring retail/wholesale monthly sales plans (forecasts and results) by channel and geography, flowing into regional and international reporting.
  • In conjunction with the General Manager, capture, report and monitor investment plans by channel and geography. Highlight the impact of currency fluctuation on sales to allow investment modification to deliver agreed profit.
  • Capture, monitor, and manage the fixed overheads of the MEASAT team units.
  • Track the inventory value and the obsolescence risk, and ensure that E&O remain in budget.
  • Partner closely with the Operations team to forecast, monitor and analyze our logistics budgets, advising on efficiencies across 3PL fulfillment and global physical distribution costs.
  • Responsible for key Financial compliance areas and critical business operations processes and ensures adequate financial procedures and controls are in place and adhered to.
  • Support, drive, and leverage best practices that enhance operational efficiency and profitability for the company brands.

Requirements:

  • 8-10 years of finance management experience ideally in a start-up to scale-up organization.
  • Experience working, negotiating, and building relationships with multiple external stakeholders including retailers, 3PLs, etc.
  • Flexibility, resilience, and comfort navigating ambiguity the tempo at the company is fast and can pivot quickly, ability to thrive and lead a team in this environment.
  • Proven success as a kind and empathetic leader with success in hiring and fostering growth of your team.
  • Ability to successfully motivate and challenge a team of talented and creative people at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to roll up their sleeves and get things done, but also be a strategic leader with the ability to build frameworks, and communicate this effectively to company leadership, the organization, and the global market.
