Job description

Responsibilities:

  1. Lead and manage the finance function, including financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting specifically for owner associations.
  2. Develop and implement financial strategies to support the financial health and long-term stability of owner associations.
  3. Oversee all financial operations, including accounting, treasury, assessments/dues collection, and financial analysis, with a focus on owner association requirements.
  4. Provide strategic financial guidance and insights to the board of directors and owner association members.
  5. Ensure compliance with financial regulations, accounting standards, and internal controls relevant to owner associations.
  6. Manage and optimize financial processes and systems, including assessment collection and reserve fund management.
  7. Develop and maintain financial policies and procedures specific to owner associations.
  8. Lead and mentor the finance team, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.
  9. Manage relationships with external auditors, banks, and other financial institutions, with a focus on owner association needs.
  10. Conduct financial analysis and provide recommendations to improve financial performance and reserve funding.
  11. Manage financial risks and implement risk mitigation strategies specific to owner associations.
  12. Oversee the preparation and presentation of financial reports and presentations to the board and owners.
  13. Lead and participate in financial due diligence and special assessments as required.
  14. Develop and manage financial budgets and control costs, with a focus on owner association budgets.
  15. Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting and compliance with accounting standards, including reserve fund disclosures.

Qualifications:

  1. Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  2. Proven experience (specify desired years of experience, e.g, 10+ years, 12+ years) as a Finance Director or in a senior financial leadership role, with significant experience in owner association financial management.
  3. Strong understanding of financial management, accounting principles, and financial regulations specific to owner associations.
  4. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  5. Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  6. Proficiency in using financial management software and ERP systems, including specialized owner association management software.
  7. Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities, including special assessments and reserve fund planning.
  8. Strong understanding of financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting for owner associations.
