About the Job:

An opportunity has arisen for a Director of Compliance to join our team in Jumeirah Group & Corporate. The main duties and responsibilities of this role are:

About the role:

  1. Lead the development of Governance & Compliance strategy and framework incorporating control points, integrated project management, and business objectives to assist the Group in ensuring governance and compliance procedures are implemented effectively.
  2. Create, adopt, and implement best practices in Corporate Governance for the company. Develop corporate policies in line with DH corporate guidelines. Contribute to the setup and review of internal governance structures for various functions. Support Internal Audit /Government Audit teams to identify process gaps and opportunities for improvement.
  3. Ensure the organization adheres to applicable laws, regulations, and internal standards by advising executive management, supporting business units in developing and updating compliance frameworks, assessing internal controls, providing advisory services, and coordinating with the legal team to address regulatory developments.
  4. Collaborate and develop operational policies, processes, and procedures to ensure standardized practices are in place, and guide the relevant team in their implementation within the system.
  5. Develop departmental DOAs for Vertical core and support functions in alignment with DH DOA, ensuring appropriate controls are embedded. Coordinate with relevant stakeholders for review prior to approval. Provide guidance on the interpretation of DOAs, policies, and procedures as required by management.
  6. Act as a focal point of contact for document submissions to the EMC, ensuring compliance with internal DOAs, policies, and procedures. Disseminate EMC instructions.

About you:

The ideal candidate for this position will have the following experience:

  1. A bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Law, Finance, Accounting, or a related field is a must. Master's in Business Administration (MBA), Master of Laws (LLM), or a master's in a relevant field such as Compliance, Risk Management, or Corporate Governance is valued.
  2. 5 to 8 years of experience in compliance, regulatory roles, or a related area, often with at least 3 years in a leadership or senior management position.
  3. Experience in the Hospitality industry is required.
  4. Leadership and team management skills.
  5. Project Management Skills.
