DevOps Engineer (AWS) - Abu Dhabi

We are seeking a DevOps Engineer to join our DevOps team. The ideal candidate will be experienced in Kubernetes and Cloud Native stack, infrastructure as code, GitOps, and automation. As a DevOps Engineer here at Callsign, you will play a critical role in working with our engineering team to develop, implement, optimize, and maintain cloud-native solutions on the AWS Cloud Platform. To be successful in this role, you should be able to identify the most optimal cloud-based solutions and maintain cloud infrastructures in accordance with best practices and company security policies. A top-notch cloud engineer should have excellent troubleshooting skills, stay current with industry trends, and be a team player.

Responsibilities:

• Deploying, scaling, and managing containerized applications on AWS EKS (Kubernetes).
• Implementation and operational support of the infrastructure on AWS leveraging the latest services and technologies.
• Support, troubleshoot, monitor, and optimize production systems.
• Building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using GitOps, GitLab, Jenkins, CircleCI, or similar.
• Automating infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Helm, Kustomize).
• Implementing observability solutions using tools such as NewRelic, Prometheus, AlertManager, and Grafana.
• Implement GitOps practices to automate CI/CD pipelines and improve deployment frequency.
• Collaborate with development teams to ensure smooth code integration and deployment workflows.
• Troubleshoot and resolve any issues with infrastructure and application environments.
• Monitor and maintain system performance, ensuring high availability and reliability.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and assess their potential integration into the organization.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• Expertise in AWS cloud platforms, with a deep understanding of cloud-native architectures.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Terraform, and Helm.
• Proficiency in GitOps practices and tools like ArgoCD, Flux, or similar.
• Strong background in automation and CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with a focus on root cause analysis.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams and departments.
• Professional experience with AWS managed services, Kubernetes, and databases.
• Proficiency in scripting and automation with languages such as Python, Bash, GoLang, or similar.
• Proficiency with Observability stack - NewRelic, Prometheus, Grafana, and EFK.
• Extensive knowledge of AWS; experience in GCP is a plus.

Preferred Skills:

• Certifications in AWS and/or GCP.
• Familiarity with database management and cloud storage solutions, understanding of database management, and experience with SQL and NoSQL databases; experience with Cassandra is a plus.
• Knowledge of network configurations and security protocols in cloud environments.
• Active participation in the cloud community, contributing to open-source projects, and attending industry events.
