Development Head

Job Responsibilities

1. Developing and managing the yearly development slate & its budget.
2. Signing off on estimated production budget per project prior to greenlighting.
3. Oversee and supervise VOX Studios films throughout inception to the final draft.
4. Building a network of writers, readers, and development producers.
5. Leads a team of development producers and manage the day-to-day operation.
6. Collaborating with the writer, director, and other key members of the creative teams to ensure each project meets VOX Studios creative vision & strategy.
7. Assisting in identifying new projects and talents; reviewing & providing feedback on all incoming pitch materials, participating in pitch meetings & content discussions.
8. Contribute to setting up relevant internal processes & templates. Preparing relevant documentation for the internal process for greenlighting Film Projects.
9. Being part of all key decisions connected to the project.
10. Ensures commissioning requirements are fully understood to develop viable proposals.
11. Responsible for briefing legal & business affairs on commissioned development. Collaborating with legal counsel on all aspects of the projects, including reviewing and commenting on deal terms, contracts, annexes & schedules.
12. Responsible for updating & collaborating with Finance on all relevant financial aspects related to the development slate, including tracking, cost reporting, and payment schedules.
13. Ensures best practice principles and protocols are implemented and adhered to in line with internal policies and project contracts.
14. Ensures physical production and editorial aspirations are aligned.
15. Responsible for planning and managing capacity (resources and people) in line with strategic objectives and commissions.
16. Oversees assessment of the financial viability of content ideas, identifying and mitigating any risks.
17. Develops and implements the operational and financial strategy linked to long-term content strategy while highlighting, balancing, and mitigating areas of risk.
18. Monitors and reports on performance against objectives and key performance indicators.
