Design Program Manager, Global Sustainable Design

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Bachelors' Degree in Architecture / Mechanical Engineering (minimum)
2. Experience in Design & Engineering roles in logistics industry is desirable
3. Experience in end-to-end project delivery of large scale infrastructure projects is highly desirable
4. Cross-disciplinary skills in infrastructure projects

The Building Design and Engineering team (International) under the Global Sustainable Development Team, is accountable for the most efficient designs for Africa, Middle East, Turkey, India, and APAC regions. We are looking for exceptional individuals with subject matter expertise in the field of end-to-end Building and Engineering Design for the Amazon Fulfilment network. The ideal candidate will possess an Architectural/Mechanical background that enables him/her to undertake the challenges of designing and innovating to provide the most effective solutions and a demonstrated ability to think broadly and strategically in aligning building design with the larger objectives of the business. You’ll be a part of a diverse team of architects, electrical engineers, Project Managers, and real estate transaction managers. You will interact with reliability and maintenance engineers (RME), security experts, operations managers, safety, and other vital roles. You’ll collaborate with people across the Amazon Fulfilment Network to help us deliver the highest standards while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. You will design and uphold the standards for Building Design collaborating across the Amazon network and conducting local market research following a process-oriented approach. If you like to apply your skills to solve problems while striving for operational excellence, we would like to meet you.

Key Job Responsibilities:

1. Developing and reviewing designs for all building formats at Amazon.
2. Supporting the Real Estate and Project Managers on technical aspects.
3. Developing a pool of consultants and contractors.
4. Working with internal and external teams to bring in the right design standards.
5. Engaging with stakeholders across regions to drive cross-geography programs on updating and upholding building standards.
6. Working with Design Consultants and vendors to review and implement the right design.

A Day in the Life:

This role will involve engagement with design engineers, Project Managers, Operations, Safety, and Maintenance teams internally, to deliver on strategic as well as tactical levels. External engagement will be with Design Consultants and vendors.

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in process improvement preferred with additional benefits for knowledge of specific methodologies such as Six Sigma, Kaizen, etc.
