We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Design Manager to join this dynamic team. The Design Manager will oversee and coordinate all aspects of the design process for our commercial projects, ensuring alignment with project goals, budgets, and timelines. This role requires a creative yet pragmatic professional who can translate development visions into functional, innovative, and sustainable design solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the conceptualization and development of design strategies for commercial projects, ensuring alignment with the company's brand, vision, and project objectives.
Oversee the design process from inception to completion, including feasibility studies, concept design, schematic design, design development, and construction documentation.
Collaborate with internal teams (development, construction, marketing) and external consultants (architects, engineers, contractors) to ensure cohesive design execution.
Ensure designs meet local building codes, zoning regulations, and sustainability standards. Coordinate with authorities to obtain necessary permits and approvals.
Manage design budgets, monitor costs, and ensure value engineering without compromising design quality or project objectives.
Conduct design reviews, resolve technical issues, and ensure adherence to design standards and specifications throughout the project lifecycle.
Integrate green building practices and sustainability principles into project designs, striving for certifications such as LEED or BREEAM where applicable.
Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and market demands to incorporate innovative design solutions into projects.
Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Urban Planning, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
2+ years of experience in design management within commercial real estate development or architecture firms.
Proven experience managing large-scale commercial projects, including offices, retail spaces, or mixed-use developments.
Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and sustainability practices.
Proficiency in design and project management tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, MS Project).
Familiarity with local building codes, regulations, and permitting processes.
