Design Manager

Role Description:

We are seeking a visionary and experienced Design Manager with 15+ years of experience in design delivery of high-end and innovative residential and mixed used projects. The design manager will be responsible for managing, defining, facilitating and quality control of overall technical design, delivery program, coordination management, team leadership and ensuring successful final delivery and streamline transition to site construction team within scheduled milestones as per Azizi Developments standards and requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Lead, manage and direct the design delivery teams (Internal/external), providing clear guidance, feedback, and support.
• Plan and implement design delivery management strategies and staying up to date with industry new trends.
• Manage and delegate responsibilities to other design delivery team members and provide clear direction/instructions.
• Present design delivery progress, status and weekly/monthly reports to line managers.
• Ensure all design projects are completed within scheduled timelines and as per Azizi Developments Standards.
• Manage and oversee the design delivery production, QAQC review, Authority Submissions/approvals and marketing package production.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams like specialists, sub consultants, procurement and sales departments.
• Maintaining a positive attitude, working environment and continuous team encouragement.
• Prepare effective Design delivery Programs, design briefs, RFP’s, risk mitigation plans, status reports and dashboards.
• Overseeing and directing the internal/external design teams’ workflow, ensuring all project milestones are met.
• Working closely with leadership / stakeholders to understand the projects’ design brief and objectives.
• Developing design delivery strategies, plans that align with studio needs and overall business goals.
• Manage, review and approve technical design packages developed by the design team and external consultants.
• Coordinate with other departments, such as procurement & marketing, to integrate/meet project functional and sales requirements.
• Ensure that all design projects are quality controlled and meet Azizi Developments standards.
• Manage and handle daily issues and/or potential delays in the design delivery process and come up with effective solutions, risk mitigation and problem-solving action plans.
• Maintain clear communication with the line managers, design delivery team and stakeholders to review progress and manage expectations.
• Contribute to team development and mentoring to foster a creative and efficient design delivery environment.

Qualification:

• Bachelor of Science (M.Sc. Science preferred) in Architecture and/or Engineering
• Industries Experience Acceptable: Developer / Consultants, Architecture & Engineering
• Microsoft Office Excel, Word, PowerPoint & MS Project
• AutoCAD, Revit, BIM Management
• Knowledge in Photoshop, Adobe Creative suite.
• BIM 360
• Project Management/Project full design delivery, technical design knowledge, material specifications & Construction methods
