The Refrigeration Design Engineer supports the iREF Middle East And Africa Design and Engineering team by assisting with pre and post sales activities related to design, supply and build Industrial Refrigeration Systems and iREF equipment project opportunities.
How You Will Do It
Support detailed estimating of projects at pre-sales activities. Together with Sales Managers, present it to clients.
Technically lead pre-sales activities from reviewing tender documents to securing the project.
Assist as needed in developing the customers’ business case for conceptual solutions.
Provide technical support, selections, and estimating support to Sales managers related to new projects or AfterMarket retrofit projects at the pre-sales phase.
Provide input to the sales management organization for opportunity prioritization & qualification.
Prepare customer proposals, quote letters for assigned projects, cost book, estimate timeframe schedule, process flow diagram, and initial layouts together with assigned CAD engineer.
Validate assumptions made during the proposal and pre-sales phase. Build a detailed cost estimate and scope of work for assigned projects in conjunction with sales. Assist in reviewing final proposals and other customer communication documents as well as assist with any design work required.
Secure the best available pricing for the selected equipment in cooperation with team members from the Supply Chain Department.
Perform proactive risk assessments for projects.
Complete the detailed design and engineering works during the execution process.
Review all technical design documentation before issuing to customer and operation team.
Conduct all refrigeration-related calculations, such as heat load calculation, pipe sizing, etc.
Generate technical content for Purchase Orders for all material and equipment, select orders, and work very closely with all parties (operation manager, procurement managers, suppliers).
Desired Candidate Profile
Five years of experience in designing industrial refrigeration systems or large complex commercial refrigeration systems.
Good English language skills.
Good knowledge of modern CAD systems like AutoCAD, Revit, Inventor.
Experience with Microsoft Office suite (with emphasis on Word, Excel, and Visio), and basic Windows operating system environment.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Demonstrated ability to simultaneously manage a large and diverse number of projects with professionalism, cooperation, and persistence.
Demonstrated organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work with minimal supervision.
Preferred
Ability to create 3D/2D drawings in CAD systems.
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology or equivalent through experience.
