Design Engineer

With the aim of providing world class products for process solutions within the oil, gas and chemical industries, Cambridgeshire-based Oil & Gas Measurement Limited (OGM) seeks an experienced and highly motivated Design Engineer experienced in drawings development and is willing to learn.

OGM produces the highest quality proprietary components and conducts innovative scientific R&D, in-house design, prototyping and testing. We are looking for someone who has knowledge about the Product Creation Process (PCP) and can develop drawings using CAD software.

Job function:

1. Create, modify, and review detailed technical drawings using CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, etc.) based on project specifications and design concepts.
2. Develop drawings from sketches, specifications, and verbal instructions.
3. Maintain organized records of all drawings and related documentation.

Requirements:

1. Hands-on attitude and ability to solve problems; self-motivation; good technical communication skills.
2. Ability to analyze and report information.
3. Capable of balancing multiple projects/orders.
4. Confidence and ability to make decisions.
5. In accordance with: make drawings of pipelines, meter bodies, welds, and structural components specifications according to quality standards (e.g., ASME, AWS, API).
6. Prepare and maintain comprehensive inspection reports and documentation.
7. Recommend and implement corrective actions for non-conformances.
8. Collaborate effectively with engineers, welders, subcontractors, and other QC personnel.
9. Maintain a strong understanding of relevant codes, standards, and safety protocols.
