Design Engineer

Job Responsibilities:

1. Design and create 3D models using SolidWorks software.
2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and refine product designs.
3. Conduct feasibility studies and perform engineering analysis to ensure designs meet technical requirements.
4. Prepare detailed engineering drawings and documentation.
5. Test and evaluate prototypes to verify design performance.
6. Optimize designs for manufacturability and cost efficiency.
7. Provide technical support to manufacturing and production teams.
8. Ensure compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements.
9. Attend job kick-off meetings and receive engineering job files from operations coordinator/engineer.
10. Review and understand the job requirements by analyzing Engineering and Sales files to establish the correct input data.
11. Discuss the job, design input and output requirements, concept, and long lead material requirements with the Senior Design Engineer.
12. Finalize the preliminary general drawings and load calculations and review them with the Senior Design Engineer.
13. Prepare BOQs, drawings, calculations, and other project-related documents.
14. Communicate with the departments involved in the process to identify and search for optimum solutions for any related problems (design, materials, or production).
15. Preapprove purchase requests for materials as instructed by the Senior Design Engineer and participate in the materials checking process when received, if required by the Quality Inspector.
16. Attend inspection and testing of products on level 2 and 3 projects.
17. Provide technical assistance in discussions with customers and suppliers as required by the Senior Design Engineer.
18. Carry out reviews of completed jobs and report to the Senior Design Engineer.
19. Incorporate changes and as-built drawings for closed jobs in the CAD system.
20. Attend Engineering, Design Review, and Production meetings as required.
21. Provide technical assistance to Sales/Estimation departments as assigned by the Senior Design Engineer.
22. Assist the Operations department with as-built/construction specifications.
