Design Engineer

Essentially the person occupying this role has the responsibility of being an integral part of the entire Design process for Cast Resin dry type transformers up to 10MVA, 33kV, using technical expertise and previous work experience as well. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including production, quality assurance, and sales, to ensure that our products meet industry standards and customer specifications. You will have to work alongside a team of mechanical and electrical design engineers and will be assessed on team performance and delivering critical feedback when necessary.

This is an essential leadership role within the organisation and will be seen as the primary go-to point for technical clarifications, evaluations and even manufacturing & testing process related instructions. Develop relationships with colleagues across the business to ensure a harmonious and aligned operational process.

Key Responsibilities:

• Documentation Accuracy:
• Timeliness of Deliverables: Timely Issue of Electrical Designs so as to ensure that Sales, Purchase & Production get information to execute their responsibilities in alignment with the Production Plan.
• Raw Material Standardisation: A concentrated effort to maintain a database of designs of various specifications such that they are standardised in terms of raw materials ensuring optimal inventory holdings.
• Manufacturing Validation: Collaborate with manufacturing and assembly teams to ensure design feasibility and optimize production processes.
• Testing and Quality Assurance: 100% validation of all Designs evidenced by successful partial discharge, temperature rise, impedance, and high voltage test.
• Analytical and Technical Responsibilities:

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Proven experience in the design of cast resin dry type transformers with at least 3 years of working directly in the design and engineering of Cast Resin Dry type transformers.
• Strong understanding of electrical principles, thermal management, and material properties.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Strong communication skills and fluency in English, both verbal and written.
• Experience in design of liquid filled electrical transformers will weigh in your advantage.
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) would be an added advantage.
• Capability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and under pressure.
• Experience in ERP/ SAP solutions is a benefit.
