To provide specialized services to patients for the diagnosis and management of Skin and Sexually Transmitted Diseases.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement policies, procedures, plans, SOPs, clinical guidelines, and pathways of the department.
Implement a unit-specific quality improvement and patient safety program/initiative.
Identify, select, and monitor measures specific to the department or service, assess data, plan change, and sustain improvements in quality and patient safety.
Ensure complete and timely training and education of staff on quality improvement processes such as prevention and control of infection, emergency disaster response, fire safety, Hazmat, spill management, etc.
Monitor and coordinate the quality improvement and patient safety program and initiatives.
Monitor incidents and sentinel events, take action, and sustain improvements in response to events.
Support the culture of safety program and implement, monitor, and take action to improve the program in the department.
Carry out evaluations/performance appraisals for the staff in their department.
Provide consultation services to patients with skin diseases in the outpatient department and inpatient services.
Perform professional duties of a Dermatologist, including evaluating patients with skin diseases, providing consultation services, admitting patients, and providing on-call emergency coverage for dermatologic emergencies.
Perform dermatologic procedures such as PUVA therapy, skin biopsy, cryosurgery, electrocautery, chemical peeling, curettage, and excision.
Plan and maintain daily work schedules necessary for the required performance of all department functions.
Participate in monthly hospital meetings and committees as needed.
Comply with all OSH and infection control policies, standards, and procedures.
Ensure workplaces managed are safe and without risks to health, safety, or the environment.
Implement and monitor the effectiveness of the risk management program.
Qualifications
Graduation from an approved medical school plus internship.
Three years residency in Dermatology culminating in procuring a Post Graduate Master’s degree and/or equivalent Fellowships approved by DOH.
Must have DOH License to practice.
Five or more years of exclusive practice of Dermatology since certification.
Must be highly skilled in the field of practice, with mature clinical judgment and ability to provide professional leadership.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
