Job Description:

  1. Report for duty punctually wearing the correct uniform and name badges at all times.
  2. Organize together with the Chef de Partie the shift on his/her section regarding mise-en-place production and its service.
  3. Take orders from the Chef de Partie and carry them out in the correct manner.
  4. Write daily wine, dry store, food requisitions, and kitchen transfers for the approval of the Executive Chef / Executive Sous Chef to achieve high stock rotation.
  5. Maintain good employee relations and motivate colleagues.
  6. Work to the specifications received by the Chef de Partie regarding portion size, quantity, and quality as laid down in the recipe index.
  7. Complete the daily checklist regarding mise-en-place and food storage.
  8. Attend daily and monthly meetings with the Chef de cuisine and other meetings as requested by the Executive Chef / Executive Sous Chef.
  9. Report any problems regarding machinery and small equipment to the Chef de cuisine and ensure necessary work is carried out.
  10. Check the main information board regarding changes in any Banquets or other relevant information.
  11. Keep the section clean and tidy.
  12. Pass all information to the next shift.
  13. Document accidents and sickness in the log book and report to the Executive Chef / Executive Sous Chef.
  14. Check Commis Chefs on his/her section regarding personal hygiene.
  15. Assist the Chef de cuisine in composing new recipes and menu ideas.
  16. Understand and adhere to the company’s policy relating to fire, hygiene, and safety.
  17. Other tasks and responsibilities of a broadly comparable nature may be added as appropriate.

Qualifications:

  1. Completed formal training as a chef or culinary arts degree/diploma.
  2. Minimum of 2 years of experience in a professional kitchen setting.
  3. Strong knowledge of various cooking techniques and international cuisines.
  4. Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  5. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  6. Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  7. Passion for culinary arts and a desire to continuously learn and improve.
  8. Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  9. Proficiency in kitchen equipment operation and maintenance.
  10. Knowledge of food safety regulations and hygiene standards.
  11. Creativity and enthusiasm for developing new dishes and flavor combinations.
  12. Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy items when necessary.
