Job description

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation and cooking of a variety of dishes ensuring consistency and quality.
  • Work under the direction of the Chef de Partie and Head Chef to ensure smooth service and kitchen operations.
  • Take responsibility for a specific section of the kitchen helping to maintain a clean and organized environment.
  • Follow all recipes, procedures, and presentation standards to ensure dishes are prepared to the highest standard.
  • Ensure that all food is stored and handled in compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations.
  • Contribute to menu planning and food preparation for special events or promotions.
  • Manage inventory and ensure proper stock levels for your section.

Qualifications:

  • 2-3 years in a similar role in a medium to large hotel.
  • Basic Food Hygiene Certificate is preferred.
  • Hospitality School Certificate is preferred.
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Windows applications is an asset.
  • Positive attitude.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to work independently and in teams.
  • Ability to make decisions.
  • Good product knowledge.
  • Ability to produce checklists.
  • HACCP control knowledge.
