Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation and cooking of a variety of Indian dishes, maintaining consistency and high-quality standards.
- Work under the direction of the Chef de Partie and Head Chef to ensure smooth service and kitchen operations.
- Take responsibility for a specific section of the kitchen, ensuring it remains clean, organized, and efficient.
- Follow all recipes, procedures, and presentation standards to ensure dishes are prepared to the highest standard.
- Ensure all food is stored and handled in compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations.
- Contribute to menu planning and food preparation for special events or promotions, bringing innovative ideas to the table.
- Manage inventory and ensure proper stock levels for your section to maintain seamless kitchen operations.
- Collaborate with team members, providing guidance and support to junior kitchen staff.
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.
- Adapt to changing menu requirements and operational needs as directed by the Head Chef.
Requirements:
- 2-3 years of experience in a similar role within a luxury hotel or professional Indian kitchen.
- Basic Food Hygiene Certificate is preferred.
- Hospitality School Certificate is an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of kitchen operations, Indian cooking techniques, and traditional spices.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and under pressure.
- Good communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.
- Passionate about cooking and eager to learn and develop new culinary skills.
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards, including HACCP control.
- Positive attitude, adaptability, and willingness to contribute to a dynamic kitchen team.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, maintaining high standards of food quality.
- Flexibility to work in shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
