Demi Chef de Partie - Indian Kitchen

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Assist in the preparation and cooking of a variety of Indian dishes, maintaining consistency and high-quality standards.
  2. Work under the direction of the Chef de Partie and Head Chef to ensure smooth service and kitchen operations.
  3. Take responsibility for a specific section of the kitchen, ensuring it remains clean, organized, and efficient.
  4. Follow all recipes, procedures, and presentation standards to ensure dishes are prepared to the highest standard.
  5. Ensure all food is stored and handled in compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations.
  6. Contribute to menu planning and food preparation for special events or promotions, bringing innovative ideas to the table.
  7. Manage inventory and ensure proper stock levels for your section to maintain seamless kitchen operations.
  8. Collaborate with team members, providing guidance and support to junior kitchen staff.
  9. Maintain a clean and organized workstation, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.
  10. Adapt to changing menu requirements and operational needs as directed by the Head Chef.

Requirements:

  1. 2-3 years of experience in a similar role within a luxury hotel or professional Indian kitchen.
  2. Basic Food Hygiene Certificate is preferred.
  3. Hospitality School Certificate is an advantage.
  4. Strong knowledge of kitchen operations, Indian cooking techniques, and traditional spices.
  5. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and under pressure.
  6. Good communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.
  7. Passionate about cooking and eager to learn and develop new culinary skills.
  8. Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards, including HACCP control.
  9. Positive attitude, adaptability, and willingness to contribute to a dynamic kitchen team.
  10. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, maintaining high standards of food quality.
  11. Flexibility to work in shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
