Job description

The role of the Decision Support Senior Specialist is to provide assistance to the TAQA Generation CEO in strategy, business intelligence, and preparing essential materials for crucial meetings and events, while also ensuring the CEO's appropriate positioning at external forums and events. The Senior Specialist will collaborate with other CEO’s Office Support Staff including PMOs and Executive Assistants in managing the CEO’s decision support requirements.

Job Specific Responsibilities

Strategic Research and Analysis:

  • Conduct thorough strategic research and analysis to gather relevant information and insights that will enable the CEO to make informed decisions and effectively represent the organization.
  • Provide support to the CEO’s decision support team on special projects and initiatives. Perform research, coordinate with cross-functional teams, and ensure project deadlines are met, as required.

Decision Support:

  • Ensure that the CEO is well-prepared for key discussions and decisions, and that accurate records are maintained for future reference.
  • Prepare briefing notes and materials for the CEO in advance of external meetings and events, overseeing all necessary preparations related to these engagements. Ensure the briefing notes and materials are comprehensive, concise, and tailored to the specific audience and purpose of each meeting or event.
  • Assist the CEO in his role as chairperson of internal committees by preparing informative memos prior to each meeting, detailing relevant information and analysis to facilitate well-informed discussions and outcomes.

Reporting and Team Engagement

  • Provide a weekly view to the CEO to give an outlook on upcoming key meetings, highlighting those that may require preparation.
  • Collaborate closely with the communication team to ensure effective executive positioning for the CEO and maintain quality control over materials approved for the CEO.
  • Assist with rapid response requests coming to the CEO Office that are critical to the CEO and require initial research and review. Support in assessing expertise required for rapid response support assignments and source relevant experts accordingly.

Executive Support

  • Collaborate with all stakeholders for internal business meetings. Collate, consolidate, and distribute meeting agendas, minutes, and other relevant materials. Assist in the preparation of presentations, reports, and other documents for the CEO. Coordinate with business teams to ensure timely closure of open action items.
  • Coordinate resources, including personnel, budget allocation, and equipment, to support project objectives effectively.

General Responsibilities

Policy, Procedures, Process and Systems

  • Direct the development and oversee the implementation of policy, systems, processes, procedures, and controls covering all functional areas in line with group delegation of authority policy to ensure fulfillment of all relevant procedural/legislative requirements while consistently delivering quality and cost-effective service.

Reporting

  • Ensure that all reports are completed timely and comply with HQ and business policies and standards.
  • Provide support in the preparation of periodical management reports and progress reports to keep the business senior management informed about the progress of various initiatives and to facilitate decision-making.
  • Comply with organization requirements in a timely manner.

Essential Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or equivalent
  • 7+ years of experience in a strategic consulting role or similar role in the energy or utilities sector
