The American University in the Emirates (AUE) is seeking a highly qualified and experienced individual to fill the role of Dean of the College of Business Administration (COBA). This position is pivotal in providing visionary leadership and strategic direction to the college, ensuring academic excellence, fostering research and innovation, and building strong partnerships with government agencies, international organizations, and industry leaders.

Purpose

Responsible for providing a clear leadership vision to the college by liaising with industries and government sectors in collaboration with faculty, senior leadership, and community stakeholders.

Summary

The Dean of the College of Business Administration is the chief academic and administrative officer of the college, responsible for providing visionary leadership, strategic direction, and operational oversight. The Dean fosters excellence in business education, research, and professional practice while ensuring alignment with the university’s mission and goals. The role encompasses faculty development, curriculum innovation, industry partnerships, entrepreneurship initiatives, student success programs, and resource management.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A Ph.D. or equivalent terminal degree in Business Administration, Management, Finance, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in academic leadership at the level of Associate Dean or higher at an accredited university.
  • A distinguished research, teaching, and service record in business and management.
  • Strong connections with industry leaders, professional organizations, and corporate partners.
  • Demonstrated ability in strategic planning, faculty development, and student success initiatives.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and decision-making skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with AACSB accreditation processes and academic program development.
  • Knowledge of emerging trends in business, finance, marketing, and entrepreneurship.
  • Expertise in fundraising, grant writing, and budget management.
  • Strong industry connections and ability to foster partnerships with corporate and professional organizations.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Strategic Leadership – Provide visionary leadership to advance the college’s mission in business education, research, and industry engagement.
  2. Academic Excellence – Oversee curriculum development, accreditation (e.g., AACSB, AMBA, or EQUIS), and program quality to ensure excellence in business education.
  3. Faculty Development – Recruit, mentor, and support faculty in teaching, research, and industry collaboration to enhance academic reputation.
  4. Research & Innovation – Promote a strong research culture, encouraging faculty and student research, securing external funding, and fostering interdisciplinary collaboration.
  5. Student Success – Enhance student engagement, career readiness, and professional development through internships, mentorship programs, and industry partnerships.
  6. Industry & Corporate Relations – Strengthen partnerships with businesses, government agencies, and international organizations to enhance academic and career opportunities.
  7. Resource & Financial Management – Oversee budgeting, fundraising, and resource allocation to support sustainable growth and program expansion.
  8. Global Engagement – Promote international collaborations, exchange programs, and partnerships with global business schools.
  9. Diversity & Inclusion – Foster an inclusive learning and working environment that values diversity among students, faculty, and staff.
  10. Accreditation & Compliance – Ensure adherence to institutional policies, accreditation standards, and regulatory requirements.
  11. Advancement and Fundraising
  • Identify and secure funding from various sources to support the University mission in line with the university advancement and fundraising plan.
  • Cultivate relationships with current and prospective donors, ensuring their continued engagement and support for the institution.
