The primary responsibility of this role is to administer, optimize, and secure the company's database systems, including Oracle and PostgreSQL, across the entire portfolio. This includes managing database architecture, performance tuning, capacity planning, high availability, and disaster recovery strategies. The Database Administrator Engineer is also responsible for advanced troubleshooting, monitoring critical events, and maintaining comprehensive documentation. Additionally, the role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement technical solutions that align with the company’s business and IT strategies. The Database Administrator reports to the Team Database Manager.
Main Responsibilities :
- The Database administrator engineer must have strong communication skills.
- Manage RDS and DBaaS cloud services in Oracle, AWS, and Azure data centers.
- Administer Oracle RAC on-premises and FlashGrid on Azure.
- Manage PostgreSQL on-premises and Flexible RDS databases on Azure.
- Implement Oracle Active Data Guard and Physical Standby Replication.
- Install, upgrade, migrate, and configure Oracle & PostgreSQL database servers.
- Implement PostgreSQL Streaming and Logical Replication.
- Design and apply Maximum Availability Architecture (MAA) for Oracle and PostgreSQL.
- Plan and manage database capacity, scalability, and high availability.
- Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot database performance, availability, and stability.
- Ensure data integrity, security, and access control by managing roles and permissions.
- Utilize OEM Cloud Control, SQL Profiler, and other monitoring tools for database monitoring & performance tuning.
- Perform execution plan analysis, deadlock detection, and query optimization to resolve performance bottlenecks.
- Develop and implement backup, restoration, and disaster recovery strategies.
- Create and manage indexes, constraints, and partitioning strategies for performance optimization.
- Support software developers by optimizing SQL queries and tuning DML / DDL operations.
- Execute disaster recovery procedures to ensure business continuity.
- Install and upgrade database software, ensuring compatibility with current technology standards.
- Apply database patches, updates, and configuration changes following Change Management processes.
- Troubleshoot and resolve recurring issues by following Problem Management best practices.
- Provide on-call support for critical database operations.
- Perform other database-related duties as assigned.

- Disaster Recovery: Backup & Recovery, High Availability Solutions Database Design & Architecture.

Education : Master/Bachelor’s in computer science or relevant degree required.
Experience : 6+ years in a similar Database administration role.
