Job description

Key Job Responsibilities

Design, develop, and simulate engineering solutions for complex material handling challenges considering human/equipment interactions for the Last Mile network.

Lead and coordinate simulation efforts for optimal solutions through:

  1. Equipment specification
  2. Material flow
  3. Process design
  4. Ergonomics
  5. Associate experience
  6. Operational considerations
  7. Site layout

The candidate must have the ability to work with diverse customer groups to solve business problems and provide data solutions that are organized and simple to understand. Responsibilities include:

  1. Working with technical and non-technical customers to design experiments, simulations, and communicate results.
  2. Developing, documenting, and updating simulation standards, including standard results reports.
  3. Creating basic to highly advanced models and running "what-if" scenarios to help drive to optimal solutions.
  4. Working closely with internal teams to ensure that every detail is thought through and documented using Standard Operating Procedures and/or structured change control.
  5. Working closely with vendors, suppliers, and other cross-functional teams to come up with innovative solutions.
  6. Simultaneously managing multiple projects and tasks while effectively influencing, negotiating, and communicating with internal and external business partners.
  7. Conducting post-mortem on simulations, after the implementation of new designs, in partnering with Safety and Operations.

We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations: Bellevue, WA, USA.

Basic Qualifications

  1. 2+ years of data scientist experience.
  2. 3+ years of data querying languages (e.g. SQL), scripting languages (e.g. Python) or statistical/mathematical software (e.g. R, SAS, Matlab, etc.) experience.
  3. 3+ years of machine learning/statistical modeling data analysis tools and techniques, and parameters that affect their performance experience.
  4. Experience applying theoretical models in an applied environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Experience in Python, Perl, or another scripting language.
  2. Experience in a ML or data scientist role with a large technology company.
