The Data Governance & MDM Specialist will play an essential role within the Digital Business & Technology department. This unique position merges several key responsibilities, including data governance implementation, MDM execution, and data stewardship, ensuring high-quality data management across the organization
Key Responsibilities
Data Governance and Management:
Support the creation and implementation of a robust data governance framework.
Develop and manage data ownership models and stewardship programs.
Maintain up-to-date data policies, standards, and procedures.
Execute and monitor data quality frameworks and key metrics.
Manage the data catalog and business glossary, ensuring accurate documentation of data assets and lineage.
Oversee data lifecycle management to ensure compliance with governance policies.
Collaborate with regional teams to ensure consistent implementation of governance practices.
Work closely with Data Owners, Legal, and DPO teams to ensure alignment on governance practices.
Master Data Management:
Lead the implementation of MDM projects across various domains.
Manage reference data solutions and harmonization processes.
Design and implement master data models and hierarchies.
Enforce data quality rules for master data.
Ensure alignment of MDM practices with regional teams.
Data Architecture & Integration:
Support the maintenance of enterprise data models.
Document and map data lineage.
Contribute to data warehouse design and integration initiatives.
Maintain metadata documentation.
Business Collaboration & Execution:
Work with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve data-related challenges impacting operations.
Qualifications & Skills:
Bachelor&aposs degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field; Master&aposs degree is a plus.
5+ years of hands-on experience in data governance, MDM, or similar roles.
Strong understanding of data flows, integration, and architecture principles.
Practical knowledge of data governance frameworks (e.g., DAMA, DCAM).
Experience with MDM implementation and data quality management.
Proficiency in SQL and data modeling tools.
Expertise in BI tools such as Power BI and Looker Studio.
Deep knowledge of ETL processes and integration techniques.
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
Experience in driving organizational change and managing projects.
Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment.
Fluency in English is essential; additional knowledge of Arabic or French is a plus.
Relevant certifications in data governance or MDM are advantageous.
Familiarity with platforms like Google Cloud and MS Fabric is a plus.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.
