Data Engineer / Data Scientist – Commodities Trading

Please note that commodities trading experience is essential for this role.

An investment house is improving their data infrastructure for their commodity trading desk and has an opportunity for a highly skilled data professional to play a key role in both building the data infrastructure and generating analytical insight for trading activity. You will utilise a strong understanding of the physical and financial trading of commodities to design and construct the data infrastructure, databases, data pipelines, and ETL management processes, as well as working on data visualisation, optimisation, analytical problem solving, and data insight generation.

You should apply for this role if you are/have:

1. 3+ years' experience within physical and financial commodities trading (energy, oil, gas, gold, etc.)
2. Strong understanding of contemporary data engineering and/or data science practices
3. Proven experience building data infrastructures, constructing databases, designing pipelines, and ETL processes
4. Strong data visualisation experience (PowerBI, Tableau, or similar)
5. Experience with Python, AWS, SQL, and GitHub
6. Degree educated or higher from a leading academic institution

This is an initial six-month contract that will be renewed on an ongoing basis.
