Data Engineer

We are actively looking for a Data Engineer for a permanent position in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. This exciting opportunity is with a well-established global IT service provider known for its excellence in the industry.

Key responsibilities:

1. Designing, building and maintaining data architectures, including databases and processing systems.
2. Acquiring and integrating new data sources.
3. Optimising data pipelines, automating processes where possible and planning for scalability.
4. Developing methods for identifying issues in data quality, reliability and efficiency.
5. Applying appropriate security controls to all relevant collections, databases and systems.
6. Maintaining documentation relating to the design and maintenance of data systems.
7. Creating and maintaining the infrastructure and analytic tools to allow for efficient data extraction and transformation.

Key skills and qualifications:

1. Degree qualified in data science, computer science, statistics, information systems, or related disciplines.
2. Extensive experience with SQL, Python and R.
3. Experience or familiarity with Airflow, Spark, Hadoop, and PostgreSQL.
4. Experience with data modelling and ETL tools.
5. An understanding or interest in data science or analytics would be advantageous.
