As the Data Director, you will be instrumental in shaping Contango's data strategy, ensuring alignment with our organizational goals. You will lead cross-functional teams, manage complex data projects, and provide consulting expertise to deliver actionable insights and transformative business outcomes. This role demands a strategic leader with a deep understanding of data ecosystems, governance, and analytics, coupled with hands-on consulting experience.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
Develop and execute Contango's data strategy in alignment with organizational objectives.
Establish and drive data governance frameworks, ensuring data quality, security, and compliance with regulatory standards.
Data Ecosystem Management
Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of scalable data platforms and architectures.
Drive innovation in data engineering, analytics, and AI/ML solutions to enhance business capabilities.
Team Leadership
Build and lead a high-performing team of data professionals, including analysts, engineers, and scientists.
Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning within the team.
Act as a trusted advisor to internal and external stakeholders, translating complex data insights into actionable recommendations.
Lead consulting engagements, ensuring the delivery of high-value data solutions to meet business needs.
Project Management
Manage end-to-end delivery of complex data projects, ensuring timely execution and alignment with business goals.
Optimize resources and budgets to maximize ROI on data initiatives.
Experience:
Minimum of 12 years of professional experience in data strategy, management, and consulting.
Proven track record of delivering successful data projects in complex organizational environments.
Experience within top-tier consulting firms or similar roles in technology or data-driven industries is preferred.
Education:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Business Analytics, or a related field. Advanced certifications in data or AI are a plus.
Technical Expertise:
Strong knowledge of data governance, architecture, and analytics platforms (e.g., Collibra, Snowflake, Tableau, Power BI).
Familiarity with advanced AI/ML tools and methodologies.
Leadership Skills:
