Job Title: Data Center Engineering Operations Engineer

AWS is looking for a Data Center Engineering Operations Engineer to join our expanding Data Centers (DC) Cloud regions. This is a hands-on role involving electrical and mechanical equipment troubleshooting and operation response.

Key Responsibilities:

1. SAFETY: Follow and maintain the highest safety standards and encourage a world-class safety culture. Ensure remediation of safety risks/issues in conjunction with other teams. Own safety initiatives and projects to foster a strong safety culture.
2. ENGINEERING & FACILITY OPERATIONS AND MAINTENANCE: Support electrical and mechanical equipment, including Uninterruptable Power Supplies (UPS), Switchgear, Circuit Breakers, Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS), Diesel Generators, Chillers, Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning (HVAC), Exhaust Fans, Variable Frequency Drives (VFD), and Transformers.
3. Operate and maintain mechanical and electrical equipment, emergency generators, HVAC, and fire/life safety equipment within the data center.
4. Troubleshoot facility and rack-level events within internal SLAs.
5. Perform root cause analysis of equipment failures.
6. Drive innovation while reducing operational costs in the facilities.

Day in the Life:

1. Work rotational shifts of 4 days of 12-hour shifts (2 days followed by 2 nights), and 4 days off (including nights, weekends, and holidays).
2. Respond to on-call rotation for off-duty emergency calls.
3. Take daily operational readings of all mechanical and electrical equipment through routine rounds/log-taking (temperatures, voltages, currents, etc.).
4. Supervise contractors who perform servicing or preventive maintenance.
5. Perform tasks with or without reasonable accommodation, including moving objects/material (weight limits in accordance with regulations), working in outdoor weather conditions, noisy environments, and at heights and from ladders.

Desired Candidate Profile:

- 2+ years of data center engineering experience.
