Job description

As a Government Relations Officer, you are responsible for all licenses related to hotel business, visa and work permit of hotel expatriates. You will be the co-coordinator for the government relations matters and assist in maintaining open lines of communication with various Government and Municipality agencies.

What you will be doing:

  • Ensure that all hotel licenses, visas, and work permits for expatriates working under Swissotel Al Ghurair, health cards, and food handler cards are valid at all times.
  • Represent management and staff to the Authorities if required.
  • Maintain an accurate filing system.
  • Keep records of all visas, work permits, and licenses, and renew them before their expiry dates.
  • Maintain a weekly cost overview with detailed justification.
  • Advise management on visa and work permit applications, rules, and regulations of the immigration and labor office.
  • Understand the laws related to hotel business and hotel employees.
  • Assure consistent quality of service provided to all hotel guests and staff.
  • Cancel the residence visa of leaving staff.
  • Translate official letters or guest letters from Arabic-English or English-Arabic for management if requested.
  • Assist staff in the application for driving licenses.
  • Maintain good relations with government officials of the Immigration Department, Labour Department, Local Police Station, and Dubai Municipality.
  • Assist the Sales Department with leads from local companies and government institutions.
  • Perform other related duties and special projects as assigned by superiors.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • Previous experience as a GRO, preferably within the hospitality industry.
  • Outstanding coordination and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Strong understanding of UAE labor laws, visa regulations, and government procedures.
  • Excellent English & Arabic communication skills.

Visa requirements:

You must be eligible to live and work in Dubai. Swissotel Al Ghurair & Swissotel Living Al Ghurair will cover visa costs and flights for selected candidates from their place of origin.
