Job description

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Risk Assessment and credit Limits:

  • Perform comprehensive credit evaluations for potential and existing customers, incorporating LC options to enhance financial security where applicable.
  • Recommend appropriate credit limits for accounts based on insurance backing and other credit analysis factors, balancing sales opportunities with risk mitigation.

Credit Application and Approval Process:

  • Process customer credit applications, ensuring they align with corporate standards and that all requirements are met. Review financial statements and approve credit lines, backing up all accounts with detailed records and compliance documentation.
  • Provide guidance to internal and external stakeholders on credit related queries and requirements, facilitating clear understanding of terms and compliance expectations.

Banking and Credit Insurance Coordination:

  • Work independently with banks, credit insurance companies, and credit rating agencies to secure and optimize insurance, ensuring maximum protection against credit risks.
  • Liaise with banks to troubleshoot any issues in LC processing, from document discrepancies to payment schedules, ensuring smooth transactions and timely collections.
  • Support credit insurance and coverage processes, managing portfolios under insurance policies to mitigate risks and manage exposure to potential bad debts.

Collaborative Client Management:

  • Engage directly with clients to clarify queries, address account issues, and ensure compliance with contractual obligations to reduce risks of bad debt.
  • Arrange regular client meetings to resolve any account-related issues, fostering proactive account management and strong client relationships.

Compliance and Documentation Control:

  • Maintain up-to-date and complete documents to support sox compliance , ensuring all documents are readily accessible for audits or credit reviews.
  • Perform periodic compliance checks to meet internal audit requirements & suggest improvement areas.

Forecasting and KPI Reporting:

  • Prepare and present cash forecasts and customer collection schedules, collaborating with sales teams to align on outstanding accounts and receivables status.
  • Track report & present on performance metrics within monthly and annual KPIs for affiliate organization, ensuring compliance with corporate credit control standards.

Expertise in Letters of Credit (LCs):

  • Oversee and manage all aspects of Letters of Credit, including Standby LCs and individual LCs, to ensure accurate documentation and compliance with financial regulations.
  • Prepare and verify all required LC documentation, coordinating closely with internal teams and clients to ensure accuracy and adherence to contract terms.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of Incoterms to effectively structure LC agreements, minimizing risk and ensuring compliance with international trade standards.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for banks on all LC-related matters, facilitating timely issuance, amendments, and payments.

LC Transaction Compliance and Reporting:

  • Develop and implement tracking mechanisms to monitor the status of LCs across the portfolio, identifying any risks or delays in payments or documentation requirements.
  • Prepare detailed LC reports as needed, presenting updates on transaction status, any exceptions or delays, and insights into potential risk areas.
  • Conduct regular reviews of LC terms and associated costs to optimize the credit management system’s efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
