Creative Producer, Video, GQ Middle East
Location: Dubai, UAE
This is a hands-on position that works directly with GQ’s editorial leadership and editorial team to create ‘Social First’ programming as well as support the production operations and ideation for GQ Middle East’s Youtube Channel. The Creative Producer for Video, plays a central role in the execution of video programs, from pre-production, through physical production, and into post-production. The producer is accountable for the quality of the finished product and for managing every part of the process to get it there. This position partners with Heads of Editorial Content, Global Video Content Operations and Global Video Lead for GQ and Social Leads/Audience Development for GQ Middle East.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Produce several social video series across multiple social platforms, faithfully bringing the creative vision to life on time and on budget, while meeting the highest standards of quality.
- Use data to inform social video programming and view growth initiatives
- Shoot, direct, edit, and manage every aspect of social productions creating, as needed, timelines, budgets, shot lists, sourcing locations, vendors, and managing the review process.
- Lead shoots for Youtube Longform video, either on set or remotely, as a Producer/Director as needed.
- Collaborate with Editorial Social Leads and Heads of Editorial Content on programming strategy and aligning social video with local tentpole events.
- Represent the video production team in internal and external meetings and presentations.
- Problem-solve daily.
- Work with editorial staff and contributors to grow their presence in front of the camera as talent and develop series/regular programming with them.
- Be ever-updated on breaking news that might align with editorial themes and act quickly to create content relevant for respective social platforms.
- Partner with Revenue to support or directly execute client partnerships in video.
Requirements:
- Experience in production at a publisher, agency, or production company OR 4+ Years creating content freelance for Creators, Clients or Self.
- Must have experience shooting with many different cameras, directing, and editing on Premiere. Expertise in utilizing mobile-first shooting and editing software is required.
- Excellent track record growing audiences and receiving positive engagement on social platforms.
- Experienced in the production of digital vertical video, social-first campaigns, and/or creator-led executions.
- Experience in Youtube/longform production as a Producer or Director/Creator.
- Understanding of Audiences across Video platforms and driving attention and engagement via smartly programmed formats.
- Rapid ideation skills.
- Relationships in the industry to bring in support as needed for larger campaigns and editorial initiatives.
- A good eye for design and aesthetics when it comes to titles and logo/graphic placement and creation.
- Experience working with commercial clients and/or brands is a plus.
- Strong communication skills, in-person & remotely. Proficient at writing client-facing and executive-facing emails. Ability to work across a complex and matrixed organization.
- A positive attitude and solutions-oriented collaborative style. Ability to juggle many concurrent projects in a fast-paced environment.
- An understanding of local audiences and how they engage with video on multiple platforms in the Middle East, particularly in the UAE.
