Implements the day-to-day operations assigned for the Commercial department/section to ensure compliance with the established standards and procedures.
Reviews client specifications and understands the requirements.
Sends information relevant to specialized works/special material requirements to subcontractors, Production Departments, and Procurement Department for required inputs.
Communicates with clients for any clarification/additional information if required.
Prepares detailed and accurate estimates and final bid documents (tenders) for all types of vessels.
Inspects vessels whenever required and discusses technical/commercial details with owner representatives.
Prepares financial summaries of the tenders for management approval.
Updates all required information on A forms before handover.
Attends to tender clarifications/additional quotations until the vessel arrives at the yard.
Hands over project file along with all related documents to the project team, highlighting critical and specific requirements of the project.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned by the Manager/Assistant Manager of Estimating.
To prepare and submit competitive tenders based on client specifications.
Minimum Qualifications:
Degree/Diploma or equivalent qualification in Marine Mechanical or Naval Architecture, or sea-going Engineers with a certificate issued by a competent authority.
Contract negotiation and administration skills.
Minimum 3 to 5 years experience in a shipyard with a minimum of 2 years in a similar position.
Knowledge and experience in a ship repair facility with vessels and rig repairs.
Experience in a similar position in a reputable shipyard.
Familiarity with technical terms related to ship repairs and rig repairs.
Project Management and contract negotiation skills.
