Corporate Tax Manager

Corporate tax: Tax compliance, planning, and strategy within the organization. They ensure that the company complies with all tax laws and regulations.

VAT: Managing all VAT matters within the Organization . This role involves ensuring compliance with VAT processes and providing guidance on VAT related issues.

Key Accountabilities:

Corporate Tax

• Develop and implement tax strategies.
• Prepare and file tax returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations.
• Conduct tax research and stay updated on changes in tax laws.
• Coordinate with external auditors and tax authorities during tax audits.
• Provide guidance to internal teams on tax-related matters.
• Monitor and analyze tax implications of business decisions and transactions.
• Assist in the preparation of financial statements (for Tax group) and reports related to taxation.
• Manage relationships with tax consultants, advisors, and authorities.

VAT

• Oversee VAT compliance and reporting activities, including the preparation and submission of VAT returns.
• Monitor changes in VAT regulations and ensure that the organization adapts to new requirements.
• Collaborate with internal teams to provide guidance on VAT implications for business decisions.
• Implement and maintain efficient VAT processes and controls to minimize risks.
• Assist in VAT planning and optimization strategies to reduce tax liabilities.
• Communicate with external auditors and tax authorities on VAT matters.
• Stay abreast of developments in VAT legislation and provide training to relevant stakeholders.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CA/CPA/ACCA/ Relevant certification on Taxation / VAT is required.
• Proven experience in tax compliance, planning, and strategy, preferably in a managerial role.
• Proven experience in VAT compliance, preferably in a specialist role.
• Strong knowledge of tax laws, regulations, and accounting principles.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional team.

• Tax and VAT Strategy and Planning

  • Develop and implement effective corporate tax and VAT strategies that align with the company's financial goals and minimize tax liabilities.
  • Ensure that tax planning and VAT structures are efficient and compliant across the group’s operations in different regions or countries.

• Compliance and Reporting

  • Ensure accurate preparation and timely submission of corporate tax returns, VAT returns, and other statutory filings for the group of companies.
  • Monitor and track changes in tax and VAT regulations to ensure ongoing compliance, including implementing necessary adjustments to tax filings.

• VAT Management

  • Oversee the company’s VAT compliance, ensuring that VAT calculations are accurate and returns are submitted on time.
  • Advise on VAT matters relating to sales, purchases, and international transactions, ensuring the business benefits from any VAT exemptions or credits.

• Audit Management

  • Manage tax audits and VAT inspections, liaising with external auditors and tax authorities to resolve any issues that arise.
  • Prepare and submit any necessary documentation to support the company during audits and investigations.

• Cross-Jurisdiction Tax and VAT Issues

  • Advise the group on international tax and VAT issues, including intercompany transactions, cross-border taxation, transfer pricing, and any impact of foreign operations on VAT liabilities.
  • Coordinate with local tax teams in different jurisdictions to ensure uniformity in tax treatment and compliance across the group.

• Team Leadership and Development

  • Lead and manage a team of tax and VAT professionals, providing mentorship, training, and guidance to ensure professional growth and efficient operations.
