Job Summary:

As a Corporate Lawyer, you will be pivotal in managing our legal affairs, safeguarding the company's reputation, and ensuring compliance across all aspects of our operations. Your expertise will be crucial in handling legal issues that are critical to the production, distribution, and marketing of our products.

Daily operations will require your experience in negotiating, drafting, and managing distribution contracts, as well as managing all aspects of intellectual property related to the mobile phone and consumer electronics industry. You will apply a thorough knowledge of intellectual property laws, licensing, and contract management, particularly in the context of the UAE and international markets. You will work closely with the senior management team to strategize and implement effective legal policies.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Contract Negotiation and Management:
   • Manage the negotiation, drafting, and execution of distribution agreements.
   • Manage the life cycle of distribution contracts, including renewals, amendments, and terminations.
   • Ensure all contracts comply with local and international laws.
   • Liaise with internal stakeholders to ensure contract terms align with company policies and business objectives.
2. Intellectual Property Management:
   • Oversee the protection and enforcement of the company's intellectual property rights.
   • Manage intellectual property-related contracts, including licensing agreements.
   • Advise on intellectual property risks during contract negotiations and business transactions.
3. Regulatory Compliance:
   • Monitor legislative changes and advise on necessary amendments to contracts.
   • Ensure compliance with international trade regulations impacting distribution agreements.
4. International Experience:
   • Use in-depth knowledge of international markets to guide contract negotiations.
   • Establish relationships with key stakeholders in international markets.
5. Risk Management and Dispute Resolution:
   • Lead contract dispute resolution processes.
   • Coordinate with external counsel for litigation and legal disputes.
   • Oversee the work of outside counsel and manage the legal budget.
6. Collaboration and Communication:
   • Work closely with Product Development, Marketing, and Sales teams.
   • Communicate effectively with external partners to ensure smooth contract management.
   • Support corporate governance and business ethics initiatives.
   • Stay abreast of legislative changes affecting the company globally.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

• Preferably a Master's or JD degree from an accredited law school.
• Minimum 5-7 years of experience in contract negotiations and intellectual property management.
• Deep understanding of intellectual property rights and international trade regulations.
• Proven track record in negotiating and managing distribution agreements.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong leadership skills and ability to manage multiple projects.
• Fluency in English is a must; knowledge of other languages is preferable.
• Experience in mobile phone or consumer electronics industries is a significant advantage.
