Contract Manager – Construction

Job Purpose:

Lead the contractual and commercial management of a high-value, large-scale construction project. You will be responsible for contract execution, risk mitigation, and financial governance, ensuring the project stays within budget while protecting its commercial interests.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage all contractual aspects of the project from start to completion.
• Ensure compliance with contract terms, regulatory requirements, and risk management strategies.
• Lead negotiations with subcontractors, suppliers, and stakeholders to secure favorable terms.
• Administer and track variations, claims, and payment applications to ensure timely approvals.
• Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to safeguard the project’s financial health.
• Manage budget control, cost reporting, and financial forecasting for the project.
• Resolve contractual disputes and support the project team in claims management.
• Coordinate with clients, engineers, legal teams, and senior leadership to align on project objectives.
• Lead and mentor Quantity Surveyors, Planners, and commercial teams on-site.
• Ensure smooth project closeout, including subcontractor settlements and final accounts.

Experience:

• 15+ years of experience in contract management for large-scale construction projects.
• High Rise Building project experience is a must!

Technical Skills and Competencies:

• Proven expertise in contract negotiation, risk assessment, and financial oversight.
• Strong knowledge of FIDIC contracts, procurement law, and dispute resolution.
• Excellent leadership and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage at an executive level.
• Analytical mindset, capable of optimizing commercial strategies while mitigating risks.

Educational Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
