Content Acquisition Manager

MENA Content Acquisition Manager, TV Plus, this person defines and delivers long-term data driven content acquisition strategy with strategic set goals through the year, establishing commercial agreements with partners to improve the company’s market position, increase monthly viewing and achieve financial growth.

Role and Responsibilities

1. Have an in-depth understanding of what content will work within a FAST and AVOD environment in MENA (with a starting focus on Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, and Egypt) and work closely with EU team to ensure that there is strategic alignment on content sourcing strategy.
2. Design and Build the content acquisition strategy for STVP MENA.
3. Responsible for sourcing and negotiations across all 3rd party FAST channels and AVOD partners for MENA business.
4. Work closely with Samsung legal teams to communicate commercial terms to enable Legal to draft Licence Agreements. A broad understanding of legal terms and contract construct essential.
5. Screens potential business deals by analyzing market strategies, deal requirements, potential, and financials; evaluating options; resolving internal priorities; recommending equity investments.
6. Manage, track, and input all key points from portfolio partner deal pipeline and agreements including business terms, payment schedules, and additional rights and obligations. Disseminate contract summaries and partner updates across key internal partners including legal, content operations, editorial, marketing, ad operations, PR and finance.
7. Establish and build long term growing relationships with local leading content producers, streamers and broadcasters, in close partnership with Samsung ESBO BD ecosystem service partnerships team and local subsidiaries.
8. Work closely with Samsung ESBO PM curation team to build locally relevant editorial and curation strategy for STVP MENA.
9. Work closely with Samsung ESBO PM marketing team and local subsidiaries marketing teams to build content driven marketing strategy to grow STVP brand and awareness in local markets.
10. Work closely with Samsung Ads team to build STVP MENA best monetization strategy.
11. Work closely with both VD & IM local subsidiaries teams to build alliances and build One Samsung approach around STVP MENA.
12. Research and be fully aware of all regulation in MENA territories that apply to the service and be a knowledge leader. Working with Samsung PM, Legal and Public Affairs teams to ensure the content and service is compliant (local licenses, collecting societies, taxes, etc…). Providing updates on regulation changes on a regular basis and ensuring any commercials are included in our content partner agreements.
13. Be the Samsung presence at all key content tradeshows in MENA, showing that we are at the forefront of the streaming & FAST industry. Speaking in industry panels, podcasts, written articles to promote the service and Samsung within the local content industry.

Skills and Qualifications

1. To be successful, you will possess the following skills and attributes:
2. Proven experience, Business Development / Content Acquisition for a data driven ad-supported content provider and / or platform.
3. Fluency in Arabic language required
4. Strong relationships within the MENA media ecosystem and within the FAST and AVOD channel content provider community.
5. Experience in direct deal negotiations, relationship management, and partnership valuation.
6. Experience in contract negotiations and content licensing terms including revenue share and minimum guarantees.
7. Strong presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills (both written and spoken).
8. Strong cross-functional leadership skills.
9. Proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint and other Office products.
