Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled and knowledgeable Consultant/Specialist in Pain Medicine to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the field of pain management and possess a strong commitment to delivering compassionate and comprehensive care to patients.

Job Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough and accurate evaluations of patients' pain conditions, including medical history, physical examination, and diagnostic tests.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients with acute or chronic pain, utilizing a multimodal approach.
  • Administer safe and effective pain management techniques, such as medication management, interventional procedures, and behavioral therapies.
  • Educate patients and their families on pain management strategies, expected outcomes, and potential risks of treatment.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as primary care physicians, surgeons, and physical therapists, to provide coordinated and holistic care.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements and research in the field of pain medicine and apply evidence-based practices in patient care.
  • Manage and maintain accurate and organized patient records, including documentation of treatment plans, progress notes, and billing.
  • Actively participate in departmental meetings, trainings, and continuous quality improvement initiatives.

Job Requirements

  • Medical degree from an accredited institution and completion of a residency program in anesthesiology or pain medicine.
  • Board certification in Pain Medicine or eligibility for certification.
  • Current and unrestricted license to practice medicine in the state.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in pain medicine practice.
  • Strong understanding of pain physiology, pain assessment, and pain management principles.
  • Proficiency in various interventional pain procedures, including fluoroscopically guided injections, nerve blocks, and neurolytic procedures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish rapport with patients and effectively collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.
  • Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate and organized records.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
